Reality vs expectations pose a big dilemma…. surely something to think about.

Do we love the world we live in? Or we’d rather escape in to the land of eternal madness. I must admit, I’d love the other option to be available because I don’t understand this world anymore. I’m not the first or the last person to admit the fact that the mental health ignorance, injustice, violence, and political games disgust me. It makes us put different masks on in order to thrive and survive among sharks in this world. I truly admire musicians who spread the message about the reality of this world through their music without carefully threading words.

Poor and innocent teenage soul on the verge of suicide due to lack of acceptance. It’s a simple game – if you don’t fit in you loose. Brought up Christian, escaped neutral believer and remained scarred for life. Your brain is complex, if you are blessed with exceptional perception of the world then you are gifted and cursed at the same time. Why? Because you are considered to be a Highly Sensitive Person who is not understood or recognised by common society. The talk of taking ones life has hit my senses more often than i can take. I feel for the families and friends of those who have experienced the loss of a loved one. What hurts the most is sometimes the simple question – Why? Why make those plans with me? Why leave me? Why didn’t i see this?

Truth is and it hurts the most to know that no one will ever know. People will say they were selfish for taking their own life but the reality of it is that they believed that the world was better of without them. They were not being selfish. They were hurting. They were blocked from happiness and anyone who calls it the easy way out does not understand the reality of living with a mental illness.

When you live with anxiety for many years you get use to it. It becomes your partner for life. It’s not the most pleasant acquaintance of all times. I would say you treat it as a very annoying colleague from work who happens to sit next to you. You can’t get rid of them (obviously) or completely separate yourself from their presence. You just work out your own clever ways to exist alongside them leading fairly good & satisfying life ( if you’ve already learnt to appreciate it). At times, you don’t even notice them anymore. I was raised as a person who was meant to follow the path of the Roman Catholic Church. I refused to adhere to it and as a result of my decision I faced fair amount of prejudice. When I was a teenager I searched for people who would soothe my battered soul and who would understand me.
Unfortunately, I searched and I experienced faiths but I didn’t find any fairness and understanding which I was looking for.
I do believe in God because it gives me comfort but I also follow my own path of being a decent human being. I adore Buddhism and its principles and values. I’m not a Buddhist and I will never label myself as one but Buddhism has a special place in my heart. It has helped me to understand the true beauty & meaning of life. Thich Nhat Hanh is my hero.

Terrible news, horrible experiences, physical violence and mental abuse can harm & destroy you both mentally and physically. It’s hard to find the inner strength and hope during sad times. 

It’s important to keep in mind that bad time doesn’t last forever and our existence is made of negative, neutral and positive occurences. 

I know it doesn’t sound appealing to a person who has been suffering but right now PLEASE focus solely on yourself. If you are in the harmful environment PLEASE plan the great  escape. Eat healthy, sleep enough and rediscover your hobbies, wishes and desires. You are the the most wonderful & unique person who deserves the best in life. Only if you remove yourself from a negative situation that will be possible and healing process will take place. 

Depression

Life is real

When you fall apart, pick up the broken pieces, clean up, take your time to heal and move on. Life goes on so are you & your Inner- Self. 

Remember, don’t rush… give yourself enough time to recover- 1 day, 1 week, 1 month , 1 year… Being hurt, loosing someone who was your partner or a family member, having a broken heart due to abandonment, loosing a job  or simply falling into a whirlpool of depression caused by the pressure of modern life have one thing in common- the need of time to heal. 

You are wonderful human being and even though it may not seem like it right now…life will get better as constant is only change 😊 Don’t give up and talk out loud about your feelings and emotions.

This is Boris 

A male cat who is strong & resilient. He was found under the bridge 14 years ago. He was weak, bruised, injured & scared. It took him a while to heal but in the end he took a major step and began to gradually build a relationship with us based on trust & love. It seems that he left his dark past behind and started a new life. We all could learn from him. I know life injures and scars us but it’s never to late to start AGAIN AND BE FULFILLED!!! 

There are three steps to do that:

1. Realisation of the negative experience and its impact on our lives .

2. Acceptance of the negative experience and the beggining of living our life ‘HERE & NOW ‘ – the importance of being in the present moment and embracing the wonderful visual, verbal & physical things of the surrounding world while focusing on the nature and meditation.

3. Practising living in the present moment and welcoming new life experiences. 

Please be aware that it’s impossible to erase the past. The key to forgiveness is acceptance and self-care. In order to heal emotional and mental wounds we must look after ourselves. It’s not about justifying wrong actions of those who have hurt us but its about solely focusing on ourselves and staying away from toxicity of our perpetrators. We are all unique and special. We deserve respect. 

If you have suicidal thoughts or if you are a victim of bullying, domestic mental & physical abuse, neglect, rape or any other kind mistreatment please don’t be afraid to share your pain & sadness. Life is beautiful full of surprises.

Remember you are a unique human being 😊
